Ireland · rental standards
Practical guidance · tooling developingA safer, inspection-ready home.
Ireland’s minimum standards cover the structure, facilities, heating, ventilation, lighting and safety of rented homes. Landwide helps organise property evidence today while we develop a dedicated standards workflow.
A well-managed stay
- 01Inspect the property
- 02Resolve what needs attention
- 03Keep the evidence together
The records behind a well-kept home.
Landwide can already keep property, inspection, document and maintenance context together. It does not certify a property or replace a local-authority inspection.
Inspection records
Keep inspection dates, notes, photos and related documents connected to the property.
Maintenance context
Record property issues and retain the operational history behind repairs and recurring work.
Property documents
Organise certificates, reports, agreements and evidence in the document vault.
Tenant communication
Keep relevant email communication connected when an issue needs action or follow-up.
A guided standards and evidence workflow.
We are turning the national requirements into a practical property-level process, with Dublin as the first local enforcement context.
Standards checklist
A planned checklist will cover structural repair, facilities, heating, ventilation, lighting and safety evidence.
Inspection evidence packs
Teams will be able to assemble the relevant photos, certificates, notes and completed work.
Remediation tracking
We are designing clearer ownership, deadlines and completion evidence for issues found.
Local authority context
Local guidance can be layered onto the national baseline without making the core product Ireland-only.
The property standard
Inspect. Record. Resolve. Retain.
A nice stay is supported by a property that is safe, functional and cared for—and by a team that can show what was checked and completed.
- 01 / INSPECT
Review the home
Check the structure, sanitary facilities, heating, ventilation, lighting, equipment and safety measures.
- 02 / RECORD
Capture useful evidence
Keep dated notes, photos, certificates and documents against the correct property and inspection.
- 03 / RESOLVE
Act on the gaps
Assign and document repairs or replacements when an issue needs attention.
- 04 / RETAIN
Preserve the trail
Keep the completed work and follow-up evidence ready for the team, tenant or authorised inspector.
National baseline · local enforcement
One standard, applied property by property.
The Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019 provide the national baseline. Local authorities, including Dublin City Council, inspect and enforce those standards.
Structure and repair
The dwelling should be maintained in a proper state of structural repair, inside and out.
Facilities and comfort
Sanitary facilities, heating, food preparation, laundry, ventilation and lighting all form part of the standard.
Fire and utility safety
Smoke and carbon-monoxide measures, fire blankets and safe gas, oil and electrical installations matter.
Inspection and remediation
Local authorities can inspect and may require contraventions to be remedied.
Official sources
The requirements behind the checklist.
Use the national standard as the baseline and the relevant local authority for inspection and enforcement information.
